Hickeys

Home Farm Fresh Since 1961

Our Story

Located in Ardee, Co Louth, Hickeys Home Farm is a family owned business with three generations of the family involved in the day to day running of the farm. We are growers of quality potatoes, vegetables, cereals and beef for the Irish market. Potatoes are the backbone of our business and as a result we have invested hugely into state of the art grading, storage, growing and harvesting equipment. Our main aim is to satisfy our customers and therefore we take great pride in delivering quality produce all year round. Our impressive facility supplies our own Farm Shop on site. We also supply small retailers right through to large wholesalers.

We are passionate about maintaining our extremely high standards which are Bord Bia approved. We strive to promote home grown produce and healthy eating. We aim to deliver the best quality produce to all our customers, be they large or small.

We are keen to promote local employment and have a very loyal, dedicated team both on the farm and in the farm shop.

Our Produce

Potatoes

Potatoes are a huge part of our life and business and as a result we have invested hugely into state of the art grading, storage, growing and harvesting equipment.

Vegetables

Pat Hickey Snr sowed his first carrot in 1957 and we now grow a wide variety of vegetables including carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, turnip and broccoli.

Cereals

We grow approximately 1000 acres of cereals a year. Including wheat, barley & oats. We harvest all our own cereals ourselves and most of it is used for animal feed.

Beef

We rear our own continental cattle from weanling to beef. We usually have approximately 350 at any one time.
